Photo gravure printing was invented in 1879 and was a precursor to the silver gelatin emulsions we know in traditional darkroom processes. Simply put, the process is to photographically transfer an image to a metal plate, etch the image on the plate then print from it. With 23 specific steps, it is a time-intensive process, but it yields beautiful handmade works of art.

Sizes of prints are listed under the item details. Every item is matted in 4-ply white 100% cotton rag board.

Photographer Support Pledge

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the livelihood photographers, teachers, freelancers, galleries and professionals around the world. The #photographersupportpledge is an initiative to support photographers during the pandemic and encourage patronage of fine art photography. The Photographer Support Pledge is open to all photographers worldwide and follows a basic model: Participating photographers offer prints for sale, framed or unframed, at a maximum of $200 (£200, €200, or ¥20000) plus shipping. Once a photographer reaches $1000 in sales, they commit to buying another photographer’s work. In this way everyone is supported.
